i speak tonight for the dignity of man and the destiny of democracy.americans of all religions and all colors, from every section of this country, to join me in that cause.

i think that the most powerful thing that president lindon johnsons most powerful and meaninful words of this whole speech are the ones above because he is speaking directly to the people thast were being badly beaten. saying that he was speaking for the dignity of man made the blacks feel like they were excepted as equal people. and saying that he was speaking for the destiny of democracy made them feel important to the gov also to themselves and the white people. this is why i think that these words above were the most powerful and important of his entire speech.
